Start with the book, not with a quiz

Discover Canada is the official study guide for the citizenship test. Read one chapter at a time — rights and responsibilities, history, government, symbols, economy, regions — and take short notes in your own words. A quiz can check what you know, but it cannot replace reading the chapter first.

Practise the chapter you just read

After each chapter, practise that chapter in practice mode. The explanation after each question points back to the chapter topic, so a wrong answer tells you exactly what to re-read. The practice bank on this site has 180 original questions across the ten chapters used here.

Finish with a mock test

When you have covered all chapters, take the 20-question mock test in exam mode: no explanations until the end, just as a test feels. The mock test on this site shows a target of 15/20 — a target format to be confirmed against the current official IRCC information on canada.ca / IRCC. Review every wrong answer, re-read those chapters, and take the mock test again a few days later.

A simple plan

  1. Read one or two chapters per study session.
  2. Practise each chapter right after reading it.
  3. Take a mock test, review mistakes, and re-read the weak chapters.
  4. Repeat the mock test after a gap, so you are testing memory, not recognition.
